This is super late, but better late than never! Back in 2014 (almost a year ago exactly) some friends and I decided to throw what we considered to be a “classy” tailgate. We’re alumni, but we haven’t reached fancy alumni status … yet. One day I do hope to roll into the Rose Bowl parking lot with a luxury Winnebago, complete with UCLA alumni vanity plates and flags. Until then, our version of “classy” will consist of nice tablecloth, finger foods that were never frozen, wine, champagne, and thoughtful decor.
The Dollar Store was my friend! I was able to get everything we needed to make this a success, including yellow and blue EVERYTHING. I also found some extra wood lying around my apartment for a previous project, so I grabbed my can of chalkboard paint, a saw, and make little signage for each plate of food. I’m going to keep this post short and sweet and let the photos speak for themselves. Needless to say, people were both confused and in awe of our set up. I can’t wait to do this again for another tailgate. Next time I’ll try to catch a Michigan game in Virginia or Maryland.
Oh, and GO BRUINS!!!
